Jackie Paul Hendricks of McKinney, Texas passed away on October 7, 2022 at the age of 80. He was born on April 15, 1942 to Leslie Washington and Alta Mae (Aston) Hendricks in McKinney, Texas. Jackie graduated from Prosper High School class of 1960. He graduated from North Texas State University with the class of 1964. Jackie majored in education and received his master’s degree from East Texas State University. Jackie married Billie Sue Taylor on November 4, 1967 in McKinney, Texas.
He taught school at Westminster, Princeton, and Honey Grove schools. The high school stadium at Princeton was named in his honor in 2009. Jackie a.k.a. “Coach” received numerous awards in education and community service. He also served with the Lion Club for over 45 years and was a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Taylor Hendricks of McKinney, Texas; son, Scotty Hendricks of McKinney, Texas; sister, Elaine Carroll of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Williams and wife, Omeika, J.D. Williams, Madison Besser, Stephanie Besser and husband, Mark Dennis, and McKenzie Dugan; brother-in-law, Jack Taylor; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Nolan Hendricks, Charles Hendricks, Jerry Hendricks, Kenneth Hendricks, and James Hendricks; and sister, Jenny Lou Inge.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2022 at Princeton High School. Interment will follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North in Allen, Texas.
