Jack J. Potts of Dallas, Texas passed away May 31, 2019 at the age of 83. He was born on September 21, 1935 to Claude Potts and Beulah Webster Potts in Texarkana, Texas where he grew up. Jack was a 1954 graduate of Texarkana High School. He received his Bachelor of Finance from Southern State in Magnolia, Arkansas and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Jack served his country proudly in the United States Army. He married Diana Kennedy on July 31, 1971 in Dallas. Jack was partial Owner and President of Squibb-Taylor in Dallas which he retired from in December of 2017. Jack was an avid admirer of Corvettes and enjoyed working in the yard. In his younger years, he loved boating and camping with his family. Jack was a devoted member of Prestoncrest Church of Christ in Dallas.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Diana Potts of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Amy Dyan Diehl and husband, Jim of Frisco, Texas; son, Jack Jay Potts and wife, Julie of Little Elm, Texas; grandchildren, Jacob Diehl, Megan Diehl, Braelyn Potts, and Grayson Potts; sisters, Betty Gray of Dallas, Texas and Ann Leake of Plano, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Beulah Potts; and brothers, Franklin Potts and Dexter Potts.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
