Jack S. Carpenter

Jack Stebbins Carpenter passed away on October 15, 2021 in Plano, Texas at the age of 92. He was born on April 7, 1929 to Lorenzo M. and Edith (Douglas) Carpenter in Earlville, Iowa. Jack attended the University of Iowa, where he met his wife, Yvonne Faas. They were married in 1953, while Jack proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He and Yvonne moved to North Texas in 1957 and they lived there for the next 59 years, moving to Allen in 1977. Together they started their family in 1956 when their daughter Jill was born, followed by their son Jeffrey in 1957. Jack worked for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He stayed with them for over 44 years, as he moved to different locations. He retired in 1997. Jack had a passion for golf. He played at over 1000 different courses throughout the world, and he has the score cards to prove it. Jack’s second passion was music. He loved going to concerts. From the Goo Goo Dolls to Barry Manilow to Journey, Jack loved music and loved enjoying it with his kids and family. Jack was a very special man. He was a kind and nurturing father, always having patience, wisdom, and love for his kids.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Jill Carpenter of Dallas, Texas; son, Jeff Carpenter and wife, Lori of Plano, Texas; grandson, Justin Bennett and wife, Marcy of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Tim Carpenter and wife, Roxanne of Colorado; granddaughter, Carly Kintzing and husband, Greg of Shreveport, Louisiana; great grandchildren, Ben, Harrison, Arthur, Sam, Freya, Hayes, and Meena.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne; parents, Lorenzo and Edith Carpenter; brother, Robert, and sister Mary Lou.
