IN LOVING MEMORY

Jack Wayne Hines

Aug 23 1945 - Sep 29 2020

Jack Wayne Hines, age 75, of Frisco, Texas passed away on September 29, 2020. He was born on August 23, 1945 in Liberty, Texas to Jack and Edna Hines.  Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Jean Glass.  He is survived by his sister Joyce Gonzalez, her husband Randy along with two nephews and their families.  Jack always enjoyed receiving special quilts created by his talented sister, Joyce.

On the morning of September 29, 2020 Jack W. Hines was called to his Heavenly Home.  Upon this request, he went running into the arms of his Father, King, and Savior.   His family finds a great deal of comfort in this because on earth, Jack could not run nor breathe well due to his heart condition.  Every burden has now been laid down at the foot of the cross and Jack is whole again.

He will be terribly missed by his wife of 54 years, Kathy B. Hines.  They met in High School and she helped him through math. He affectionately called her “Tutor” and even scored a higher grade than her one time on a test.  They were both graduates of Andrews High School Class of ’63.   Both then went on to Texas Tech University. They married July 1,1966.  In 1967, Jack joined the US Marine Corps, serving 4 years. He began working for ExxonMobil in 1971 and the two of them made their way back to Odessa. In 1980, the Hines Family returned to their hometown of Andrews, TX to work and raise their children.

Son, Stephen, and daughter, Jennifer, will also miss their dad immensely.  Both are grateful for his love and devotion.  Jack loved attending all their sporting events; he encouraged them to lift weights to be stronger and always push yourself to do your very best.  He also gave both of them his gift of stubbornness.

Jack was proud of his son and daughter in law, Stephen Manley and Sherry Best.  And nothing was more rewarding than having the best grandchildren ever.  Brooke Manley, Madeleine Hines, Meghan Manley, and his little buddy – Preston Hines.  Their PAPA adored them.  Nothing made him happier than spending time his grandchildren.

Jack was a social introvert and loved living out in the country where he could weld, build, and putter around.   Being outdoors, hunting, fishing and hanging out at his son’s property in Winnsboro, TX.  This is where Jack was the happiest.  Although, he loved his alone time, Jack enjoyed being around people where he could talk, talk some more and tell LOTS of stories. Most of all he loved sharing the beautiful story of his Lord and Savior.

We look forward to the day we all meet again in Heaven and rejoice with Jack. We love you dad.
