Jack W Eversull, age 79, passed away at his home in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday, September 1. Jack, the son of Jack W Eversull, Sr. and LaVerne Duncan Eversull was born in Alexandria, Louisiana. His father was killed in World War II, shot down by an enemy plane in England, while serving his country.
Jack was raised in Bossier City, LA, and he graduated from Bossier High School. It’s there where he met the love of his life, Brenda Hardigree. They married and moved to Natchitoches, LA, where Jack received his B.S. in Business education and accounting from Northwestern State University. In 1973, he received his Masters of Business degree from Louisiana State University.
Jack began his career with Central Louisiana Electric Company (CLECO) in 1964 in Mansfield, LA. After receiving his Masters Degree in 1973, he was promoted and moved to Many, LA. His promotion to Division Manager came with a move to Natchitoches, LA and in 1981, another promotion to Vice President of Engineering and Construction led to another move to Lafayette, LA. Being named Senior Vice President, Government and Investor Relations for Atmos Energy prompted the final family move to the Dallas area. Jack was active in civic work throughout his career. He was active in the Louisiana Jaycees – serving as State President – where he was recognized by the U.S. Jaycees as outstanding state President in the U.S. He was also active in the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Boys Club, United Way, Red Cross and College Advisory Boards for NSU and USL.
Jack enjoyed eating healthy, exercising at the community health club, playing golf on Sundays, reading his daily newspaper and attending his grandchildren’s activities. In fact, the parents there fondly referred to him as “Papa Jack”.
Jack is survived by his adoring children, James Eversull and his wife, Susan; Jeffrey Eversull and his partner Craig Mumpton; Tracie Eversull Autry and her husband, Wallie, and their two children, Jack and Brenlee; and his sister, Debbie Bennett and her partner, Karrie Bennett.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at The Village Center at Frisco Lakes, 7227 Frisco Lakes Drive, Frisco, TX; to honor Jack, the family request that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research hospital at www.stjude.org.
