Jack Hill

Jack Hill, age 93, of Princeton, Texas, passed away on July 1, 2016.  He was born October 19, 1922 in Forest Grove, Texas to William and Bessie (Davis) Hill.  On August 29, 1942, Jack married Ella Evelyn Marsh in McKinney, Texas.  He grew up in Collin County.  Jack proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army.  He worked at Cole’s Grocery in McKinney, Texas for 15 years and then purchased, owned and operated it as Jack Hill Grocery until his retirement in 1986.  He was an avid fisherman and loved to garden.  Jack was a member of King Memorial Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Jack L. Hill and wife Linda of Culeoka, Texas; daughter, Kathy McClung and husband Mike of Princeton, Texas; son-in-law, Larry Landers of Culeoka, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other loving family and friends.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Evelyn Hill; daughter, Pat Landers; parents, William and Bessie Hill; 5 brothers; and 1 sister.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
