Jack Houston Culverhouse

Jack Houston Culverhouse, age 7, of Princeton, Texas, went to walk with The Lord on June 1, 2015 while in the arms of his parents and surrounded by family. Jack was born on August 16, 2007 in Allen, Texas to Jason and Andrea (Keefe) Culverhouse. 

Jack was a 2nd grader at Lacey Elementary in Princeton.  He loved to play and watch sports. Jack also loved to build Legos and all Super Heroes. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

He was an honorary policeman for the Princeton and Wylie Police Departments. He was also a detective for the Dallas Police Department, wearing the same badge number, 1148, as his great grandfather Billy Combest. May 26, 2015 was proclaimed “Tough Like Jack Day” by the Mayor of Princeton, and Jack was named the honorary Mayor for the day.

He is survived by his parents, Jason and Andrea Culverhouse of Princeton; brothers, Nolan and Lincoln Culverhouse; grandparents, Molly Culverhouse, Debra Boyd and Freda Combest all of Princeton; aunts and uncles, Jamie and Gary Powell of Anna, Texas, Aaron Culverhouse of Copeville, Texas, William Akin of Princeton, Larry and Anna Phennel of Princeton, Michelle and Mike Massey of Princeton; great-aunt, Jo Dixon of McKinney, Texas; numerous cousins and other loving relatives, friends and the community of Princeton.

Jack is preceded in death by his grandfather, J.H. Culverhouse; great-grandfather, Billy Houston Combest; and uncle, Jeff Argustus Culverhouse.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., June 6, 2015, at Princeton High School Auditorium, 1000 E. Princeton Drive, Princeton, Texas.  Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at Faith Baptist Church, 1306 N. 6th Street, Princeton, Texas.

The family has requested that attendees wear Super Hero shirts or costumes or wear their Tough Like Jack shirts.

Memorial donations may be made to: Citizens State Bank, P.O. Box 130, Princeton, Texas 75407, c/o Jack Culverhouse. The family will be using the proceeds to start a foundation in Jack's honor.
