J.M. Carroll, age 77, of Trenton, Texas passed away March 12, 2012. He was born January 26, 1935 in Van Buren, Arkansas, to George Evans (Bill) Carroll and Dora Orlean (Pope) Carroll. On November 25, 1961 he married Lenora Fay Herod. J.M. was co-owner of C& S Service Center in McKinney. He enjoyed trap shooting and was a top ten National Champion Trap Shooter for five years. He and his wife were McKinney residents for about fifty years.
He is survived by his daughters, Meghan Lawrence and husband, Steven of Trenton, Texas, Misty Hale and husband, Montey of Trenton, Texas; grandchildren, Dustin Roberts, Jay Roberts, Lili Lawrence and Levi J. Lawrence all of Trenton, Texas; great-grandson, Jimi Roberts of Trenton, Texas; brothers, Lee Carroll of Aubrey, Texas and Joe Carroll of Trenton, Texas; sisters, Donetta Wyatt of Trenton, Texas and Trellis Lucas of Big Spring, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dora Carroll; wife, Lenora Carroll; brother, Bob Carroll and sister, Billie Culberson.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Stoney Point Cemetery, Melissa, Texas with Paul Wyatt officiating.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas
