Izzy Valdovino, Sr.

Isidoro “Izzy” Navarijo Valdovino of Lincoln, California passed away, in McKinney, Texas, on October 25, 2021 at the age of 79. He was born on February 15, 1942 to Isidoro Valdovino and Maria Luisa Navarijo in Mexico City, Mexico.

Growing up in Mexico City, Izzy was active in sports including swimming and playing competitive soccer which, he continued to be a huge fan of the rest of his life. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hiking. As a teenager, Izzy climbed the second highest mountain peak in Mexico, Popocatepetl. He also enjoyed rebuilding cars and taking scenic drives.

After immigrating to the United States and starting a family, Izzy began his career as a welder working in the shipyards of California building US Navy ships and other vessels. He moved his family to Texas to provide better opportunities for them. Izzy always demonstrated a strong work ethic which he instilled in his children.  

Izzy loved and devoted his life to his family and adored all his grandchildren. Izzy is survived by his daughter, Anna Christiansen and husband, Alex of Lincoln, California; sons, Adrian Valdovino and wife, Daniela of Leander, Texas, Izzy Valdovino and wife, Paige of McKinney, Texas, Hector Valdovino and wife, Christine of Leander, Texas; grandchildren, Daniel, Bianca, Isaac, Natalie, Abby, Rachel, Amy, Nick, Sebastian, Dominic and Elias; great-granddaughter, Olivia; sisters, Maria and Inez of Mexico City, Mexico; and a host of other loving family and friends.

A Catholic graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
