Irma Cardenas Reyes, a resident of Princeton, Texas, passed away on June 20, 2026 at the age of 59. She was born on November 10, 1966, in Durango, Mexico, to her loving parents, Jose Angel Cardenas de Leon and Maria Emilia Sanchez Chairez.
Irma grew up in Durango, where she met the love of her life, Julio Antonio Reyes. Their friendship blossomed into a lifelong love, and they were united in marriage on October 26, 1981, in Durango. In January 1983, they moved to North Texas and began building a beautiful life together. Together they were blessed with three children, Esmeralda, Luiz, and Nanci, who became the center of her world.
A devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, Irma dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. She found great joy in cooking for her family and took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. Selfless and nurturing by nature, she was always looking after others, making sure everyone around her was cared for and supported. Her family could always count on her loving presence, wise advice, and generous heart.
Irma was a woman of deep faith and was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church. She attended St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where she found spiritual strength, fellowship, and comfort throughout her life. Her faith guided the kindness, compassion, and love that she shared so freely with others.
In her spare time, Irma enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas and spending time at home with her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being a grandmother. She treasured every opportunity to celebrate her grandchildren's accomplishments, attend their activities, and spoil them with treats and special surprises. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Above all, Irma was a loving and devoted wife who faithfully cared for her husband throughout their many years together. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love, commitment, and partnership. Through every season of life, she stood by his side with unwavering devotion and care.
Irma leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, kindness, and selflessness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends who were blessed to know her.
Irma is survived by her beloved husband of nearly forty-five years, Julio Reyes, of Princeton, Texas; children, Esmeralda Reyes also of Princeton, Texas, Luiz Reyes of McKinney, Texas, and Nanci Reyes of Josephine, Texas; grandchildren, Fernando, Adrian, Alex, Victoria, Leo, Dulce, Paula, Anthony, and Gael; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss her and will forever cherish her memory.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00AM on June 29, 2026, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 652 Redbud Blvd, McKinney, Texas 75069.
The family will receive guests during a visitation from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on June 28, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

En enero de 1983, se trasladaron al norte de Texas, donde comenzaron a construir una hermosa vida juntos. Como esposa devota, madre amorosa y orgullosa abuela, Irma dedicó su vida al cuidado de quienes amaba. Encontraba una gran alegría al cocinar para su familia y se enorgullecía de crear un hogar cálido y acogedor. De naturaleza generosa y protectora, siempre estaba pendiente de los demás, asegurándose de que todos a su alrededor estuvieran cuidados y apoyados. Su familia siempre podía contar con su amorosa presencia, sus sabios consejos y su corazón generoso.
Irma fue una mujer de profunda fe y una devota miembro de la Iglesia Católica Romana. Asistía a la Iglesia Católica San Miguel Arcángel, donde encontró fortaleza espiritual, compañerismo y consuelo a lo largo de su vida.
