IN LOVING MEMORY

Irene Leone Hedges-Miller

Dec 15 1923 - Nov 29 2019

Irene Miller of McKinney, Texas passed away peacefully on November 29, 2019 at the age of 95. She was born on December 15, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri. Irene, known to some as “Rene,” but to most as “MiMi,” went to Heaven just 16 days shy of her 96th birthday. While growing up in Missouri, she was an entrepreneur owning many businesses including a hair salon, funeral home, trailer parks, and even an Ethan Allen furniture store. She was a rare gem with a fun and humorous spirit who called everyone “Kid,” regardless of their age.

Irene lived a long and active life enjoying bird watching, flower gardening, quilting, playing golf and piano, watching Wheel of Fortune and drinking a margarita or two with family and friends. Unfortunately, she never made it on Wheel of Fortune nor won the Publisher’s Clearing House, as she had planned.

Her advice to all was, “Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone” and, “It’s hell to get old!”

She is now singing hymns and dancing in Heaven with many of her loved ones.

Because of her great love of children, donations can be made on Irene’s behalf to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children or Make a Wish, North Texas.
