Inez (Akin) Dublin, a longtime resident of Plano, Texas passed away July 2, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born on October 3, 1933, to James Charles Akin and Lola (Carpenter) Akin in Iraan, Texas. Inez graduated from Sundown High School in the Class of 1951, and continued her university studies, graduating from Texas Tech, with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Inez met the love of her life, Jerry Dell Dublin. They celebrated their love and commitment to each other on their wedding day, February 5, 1953, in Sundown, Texas. Over the years, Jerry and Inez created countless joyful memories while raising their sons, Chuck and Ronald.
Inez retired from the Plano School District after many years in education. Her impact on countless students is a testament to her dedication and passion for teaching. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the classroom into her love for gardening and volunteering. She was key in helping her church develop a Grief Support program after Jerry passed and was passionate in her many years of volunteer work with the Eisemann Center. Traveling and reading brought her a lot of joy and new experiences. Inez was of the Methodist faith and attended Custer Road Methodist Church.
Inez is survived by her son, Chuck Dublin, of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Andy Dublin (Jaclyn), Emily Gibbons (Stephen), and Sean Dublin (Caroline) all of Houston, Texas; eight great grandchildren; three nieces, Denise Pierce, Jan Buxkemper, and Sherry McMullen; two nephews, Ken Mohling and James Mohling; and a host of other loving family and friends, who will dearly miss her.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents James and Lola (Carpenter) Akin; beloved husband, Jerry Dell Dublin; son, Ronald Dublin; and two sisters, Martha Phillips, and Wanza Mohling.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 8, 2024, at 12:00 noon, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/inez-dublin. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
The family will receive guests during a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home.
