Hunter Shane Babb

December 31, 1987 - March 22, 2018

For by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. Eph 2: 8-9

Hunter Shane Babb, age 30, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 22nd following complications from a medical procedure.

In 2007, Hunter graduated from Celina High School where he played football for the Bobcats.  He attended Navarro Junior College and received certification as a firefighter/EMT while volunteering for the Celina Fire Department.  Hunter loved being in the US Army and worked as a supervisor for UPS in Dallas.

Hunter never met a stranger, was so easy to talk to and he loved unconditionally.  His legacy will be the love and acceptance he gave to everyone he knew.   His infectious smile, his bear hugs, and his teasing nature will never be forgotten.  He touched all our lives in a way that makes us smile, even today.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Celina, 109 South Oklahoma, Celina, Texas 75009, on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at First Christian Church of Weston, 101 Chicken Street, Weston, Texas 75097 beginning at 4:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mugg Cemetery in Weston.

James Hitchborn - UPS Manager of the Dallas Day sort 2014-2016, March 26, 2018 Carole, My words won't comfort you, but I know that God's Word can comfort you and your family in this timer of sorrow. Take time to be still with the Lord and allow the Lord to encircle you with his wonderful comfort, love, compassion, and strength. I didn't know Hunter very well, but I do know that all the wonderful words that were spoken about him, his smile, his love, had to have been placed in him by the Lord as well as you instilling in him these wonderful attributes. Love you! Annelle Vereen, March 26, 2018 He was an inspiration to me. I have been with UPS for 32 years and rarely run into these special Gems as him. I will miss seeing him in the Blue area of UPS. I will miss him doing everything he knew how to do and happy when it worked out. That smile that showed his heart. God took a beautiful angel home that I won't forget. The picture below is the class I taught and he was the stand out "Top Gun". I told him to keep asking questions because I knew if it were clear in his mind he was not going to forget it. And he score 100%. He made me proud.

I was Hunter"s Manager at UPS. I got the pleasure of seeing Hunter grow and develop himself at UPS. Hunter and I talked on a daily basis. He wanted to be the best at what he did. He wanted to make his family proud of him. He wanted to grow daily. He was one of the best supervisors we had. The one thing that made him stand out amongst his peers was his ability to deeply care about the well being of everyone around him. Hunter will be deeply missed within the UPS Community.
Jason Reid , March 25, 2018 I met Hunter in 2017 when I was a sup on Primary, here at UPS. I was a trainer and I worked with him to be safe and efficient in a dangerous area. after that we crossed paths here and there within the facility. When Hunter was promoted, we worked together in other areas of the hub, trading war stories and complaining, which we all did of course. We had a common interest in motorcycles as I had been a racer when I lived in LA and am still a devout cyclist. I recommended and purchased a book a friend of mine had written that would be a foundation for Hunters interest in Sport Bikes. The day it arrived was the last day I saw Hunter. I told him it was at my house ( I received a text from Amazon) and would bring it tomorrow... Tomorrow never came. I heard Hunter had fallen ill and had some scant details. I figured he'd be back shortly but was not. I was notified Saturday of Hunter's passing. I had to sit... and I cried. He will be missed for his wit and honesty. We were on the precipice of friendship and I was looking forward to it. May God Bless. Thomas Acito
