Hughlon Eddie Dowell died July 21, 2015. He was born in South Bend, Indiana on January 12, 1924, the son of the late A.M. (Kinley) and Annie V. Dowell. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Southwestern Bell after 37 years of service. He was a longtime member of the First Methodist Church of Farmersville. He was active in the men’s group and Sunday School class and especially enjoyed his dominoes group on Wednesdays.
Hughlon is survived by his son, Alex Dowell and wife Vicky, grandson Blayne Dowell and wife Abby, granddaughter Carley Taglieri and husband Trent, son-in-law Michael Scimeca, great-granddaughters Elise and Siena Taglieri, and McKinley Dowell, and sister Bonnie Weidman.
Hughlon was preceded in death by his beloved wife Charlcie and cherished daughter Patricia Scimeca, and two sisters Elsie Sapp and Ermon Moreland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made “In Memory of Hughlon Dowell” to First United Methodist Church Farmersville, PO Box 680, Farmersville, TX 75442.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, July 24th from 6 – 8 pm with services on Saturday July 25th at 10:00 am. Both will be held at Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville.
