We met Hugh and Ruth soon after they moved to Wilmington and soon became good friends. Hugh was one of the most impressive man I have ever met. He came along way from his roots in Oklahoma. He was a self taught mechanic and rose to the executive ranks with Canal Barge Lines while remaining humble with his success. He and Ruth were two of the hardest working couples we ever knew and great parents. Barb and I have great memories of our times together. Rest in piece my friend. Lee and Barb Springer, January 22, 2021 I am very lucky to have known Mr. Cooper my entire life. Big smile, twinkling eyes, warm personality is how I will always remember him. He was a wonderful neighbor and was always willing to lend a helping hand. My thoughts and prayers are with his loving and devoted family. Love, Karen Karen Crouse, January 11, 2021 It’s never easy to lose a loved one but be comforted by fond memories. Y’all are in our thoughts and prayers Jan and Andy Lundy, January 6, 2021
