H. L. “Steve” Stevens, age 96, of McKinney, Texas, passed away July 13, 2008, in McKinney. Mr. Stevens was born September 5, 1911, in Copeville, Texas, to Thomas Hesikia and Locky Ophelia (Highten) Stevens. He married Opal Wilson who preceded him in death in 1980. He later married Shirley Dean Gray on March 10, 1981 in Anna, Texas. Mr. Stevens owned and operated Steve’s Auto Wrecking in McKinney for forty years. He was a longtime member of Waddill Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Dean Stevens of McKinney, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Locky Stevens, and his first wife. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July, 15, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Woody Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Prosper, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6:00 PM Monday evening.
