Hubert Reginald Mommers

Hubert Reginald Mommers of Fairview, TX passed away November 10, 2019, at the age of 76.  He was born on April 3, 1943, to Louis Mommers and Sophie Mommers-Heijnen in Hulsberg, Netherlands.  After high school Hubert served in the Netherlands Marine Corps and then went to the United States of America in 1969 on an exchange program working for a timber trade company.  He married Penny Quimby on January 8, 1972, in Brussels, Belgium.  Hubert became a U.S. Citizen in 1977.  He worked in international sales for several lumber companies throughout his career until he retired in 2012.  His hobbies included working out at the gym, spinning, watching movies, watching the news, reading newspapers and articles. Hubert enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, watching soccer (especially the Netherlands national football team), good food, good wine and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Shane Mommers and daughter-in-law, Dori Mommers of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Sabrina Mommers and son-in-law, Dennis Sandi of Costa Rica; sister, Finy Spruit-Mommers and brother-in-law, Anton Spruit of Sittard, Netherlands; sister, Hetty Steins-Mommers and brother-in-law, Nic Steins of Hulsberg, Netherlands; sister, Mieke van Kuijk-Mommers and brother-in-law, Ad van Kuijk of Hulsberg, Netherlands; brother-in-law, George Petran of Bornia, Australia; sister-in-law, Truus Mommers-Hoenjet of Hulsberg, Netherlands; father-in-law, Raymond Quimby of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Ariana Mommers, Maddox Mommers, Jade Sandi, Dante Sandi and Lucca Sandi.

Hubert was preceded in death by his wife, Penny (Quimby) Mommers; father, Louis Mommers; mother, Sophie Mommers-Heijnen; sister, Ineka Petran-Mommers; brother, Math Mommers; and brother, Mathieu Mommers.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2019 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  Family and friends are invited to Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 at their convenience on Thursday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
