IN LOVING MEMORY

Howard Cecil Fields

Nov 03 1935 - Sep 10 2018

Monday, September 10, 2018 marked the close of a beautiful life when God called Howard Cecil Fields from earthly labor to Heavenly peace and reward. He fought a good fight, he kept the faith, and he is now at peace with the Lord. Howard Fields was born on November 3, 1935 to the late Woodie Purlener Fields and late Aldophus Dock Fields as the eldest of seven children in Henderson, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age, attending the Fairfield Baptist Church. He later moved to Los Angeles, California and became a member of the Church of God in Christ.  On November 2, 1957, he united with Jeanette Hollinger and they were married for 61 years until his departing. Their favorite thing to do together was drink a strawberry milkshake and listen to the juke box. They raised four children who walk with Christ. Howard served God as a mechanic for Riding’s/Coast Cadillac in Long Beach, California for 45 years. His integrity earned him a loyal client-base.  Howard was an extremely down-to-earth person and would not hesitate to give you the shirt off of his back, advice, or comforting. He always spoke his mind, telling you the truth, because that was how he demonstrated his love for you. Howard loved to laugh, sing gospel, garden, follow sports, and fish. He also loved spending time with his cousins, Norris and Katherine Turner and Rebecca Fields to share music.

Howard leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jeanette; his children, Juliette, Nicole, Stacy, and Howard Jr.; his grandchildren, Cerrone (Marisol), Cedric, Cymone, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Cerrone Aaron, Cyerah, Christiana, Christian, Trevor, Noah, and Eli; sisters, Melva Brantley (Willie), Betty “Sally” Medford (Curtis), Joyce Fields and the late Nelva Miller (Robert); brothers, Eric Fields and Weldon Fields (Dorthell); and a host of relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
