IN LOVING MEMORY

Holly Blades Hasty

Jul 24 1974 - Sep 28 2023

Holly Blades Hasty passed away on September 28, 2023.  Born on July 24, 1974, in Lafayette, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Karen Lea Blades and Dr. Holland Cornelius Blades.  Holly graduated from the University of Mississippi with both a BBA in Marketing and Management and an MBA in Finance.  She was also an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity.

In her youth, she enjoyed playing violin in the Missouri Southern State University Orchestra while in high school and pursued her talents in college for the University of Mississippi Orchestra.  Although she didn’t play much as an adult, she influenced her daughter’s interest in becoming a violist and participating in the orchestra program.

Smart and ambitious, Holly worked her way through a distinguished career, starting in securities trading before moving into regulatory compliance.  Ultimately, she ended up as the Head of Financial Crimes Compliance for Texas Capital Bank.  Holly took great pride in her career, and she found great satisfaction in being both a highly regarded asset to the business and a strong coach and mentor to her direct reports.  Aside from her work functions, Holly shared her passion for being an Anti-Financial Crime professional by serving on the Board of the North Texas Chapter of ACAMS.

In her free time, Holly enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Lillie, getting pedicures and going on shopping sprees at Ulta.  She also enjoyed spending time with her husband, Curtis, and their three pugs, Rebel, Beegee, and Max, relaxing on the couch watching historical dramas. She had a very close relationship with her parents, Karen and Holland (Neal), calling regularly after work to talk about her day. She enjoyed cooking for her family, depending on the weather, and watching reality TV shows such as Survivor and Judge Judy.  Holly was known for her extensive and glamorous shoe collection, often being complimented for her sense of style.

Holly is survived by her loving parents, Karen and Neal Blades; husband of 23 years, Curtis Bush Hasty IV; and her daughter Lillie Ella Louise Hasty.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the DFW Pug Rescue (www.dfwpugs.com), The Ole Miss Fund (https://ignite.olemiss.edu/project/38738), or St. Andrews Episcopal Church (for the Altar Guild, 6400 McKinney Ranch, McKinney, Texas 75070).

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 6400 McKinney Ranch Blvd., McKinney, Texas 75070.
