Hershelle Glenn Cain

Hershelle Glenn Cain, age 94, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2011 at Emeritus Assisted Living in McKinney, Texas with Margaret, his wife of 73 years, by his side. Glenn was born in Allen, Texas on February 4, 1917 to Cletus Andrew Cain and Nell Barnum Cain. He graduated from Allen High School in 1935 and had a long career in automotive parts sales and insurance sales. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and beloved by his family. He had a strong work ethic that he passed along to those around him. He especially liked teaching his sons to play baseball, to water ski and how to take care of just about anything. Glenn married Margaret Mathews in the First Christian Church of Allen, Texas on November 25, 1938. In 1943, he was called to serve his country in World War II. He joined the Navy and was stationed in the Philippines and San Diego, California. When he returned from the war he started working for Collin County Motor Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Nell Cain; brothers, Marcelle and Ray Cain; sister, Doris Cain. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of McKinney; son G.G. and wife, Amoret, of McKinney; son, Andy, of McKinney; grandson, Shannon and his wife, Anne, of McKinney; granddaughter Crissy Clay and her husband, Ken, of Flower Mound; granddaughter, Angela Chisholm and her husband Dave, of Frisco; five great-grandchildren; one brother, C. A. Cain and his wife Julia of McKinney; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, December 12, 2011 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Turrentine Jackson Morrow in McKinney. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the McKinney First Christian Church with interment at Ridgeview Memorial Park immediately following the service.
