Herbert Howard Haskins, II of Plano, Texas passed away February 3, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born to Herbert Howard Haskins, Sr and Cora Reatha Austin Haskins on July 19, 1943, in Danville, Illinois.
Herbert married Dorothy Gail Jones Haskins on June 22, 1967 in Clovis, New Mexico. He spent most of his career from 1975 to retirement as an Engineer with Burlington Northern Railroad. He loved everything about trains and loved his job. Herbert became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1983 and stayed true to his faith to the end. He also loved tennis (playing, watching), swimming, jogging, playing cards, dominos, all games essentially. He was passionate about all aspects of maintaining his yard. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends.
Herbert is survived by his son, Tracy Haskins and wife, Sarah of Plano, Texas; son, Troy Haskins of Howe, Texas; grandchildren, Marcus, Cedric and wife-Rachel, Devin, Aiden and Alexis; great grandchild, Palmer; and sister, Donna Haskins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Rosie Haskins, sister, Wanda Haskins, and brother, Robert Haskins.
