Henry "Red" Albert Bow

Henry Albert “Red” Bow passed away peacefully at his home in Whitewright, TX on Saturday morning, September 29, 2007 at the age of 96. Services will be held Monday, October 1, 2007 at 2:00pm, at Earnheart Chapel, with burial following at Pilot Grove Cemetery. Family visitation will be Sunday, September 30, from 2:00-4:00pm. Officiating the service will be Rev. Doyle Henderson. H.A. “Red” was born May 20, 1911, south of Whitewright, son of Oscar and Mollie Russell Bow. He graduated from Trenton High School. Red was the oldest member of Bethel Baptist Church on Hwy. 160 south of Whitewright. He married Willie Ayres Cornelius on July 7, 1982. They had 25 wonderful years together. Red started out working in Holmes Connelly’s drug store in Trenton, TX and later Gomer May’s drug store in Whitewright, Tx. From there, he was a farmer and cattleman and retired as a dealer in farm equipment, cars, and trucks. Red was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Johnnye Bow; sister and brother-in-law, Foy and Dale Clower; and great-nephews Michael Wayne Bow; James Ayres, Marc Ayres, and Milton Simpson. Survivors are his wife, Willie Bow of the home; Judy Simpson, Bonham, TX; Jack and Nelda Ayres, Austin, Tx; Gertrude Ayres and Jane Ayres, Denison, TX; niece, Foy Jean Cate, Whitewright; nephew, O. G. Bow, Jr., Greenville, TX; and a very large family of children that loved him very dearly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund.
