Helen Sue (Young) Griffin went home to be with Jesus on Friday, April 29, 2016 early in the morning. In recent years Mrs. Griffin had been living away from Longview near her son Gerald Griffin in Frisco, Texas in an assisted living facility. She always loved Longview and was a faithful member for over 50 years at First Baptist Longview until her health deteriorated and she could no longer attend.
Helen is survived by her son Don Griffin, wife Beth of Katy, Texas and grandchildren Ruth Adams and John Griffin; her other son, Gerald Griffin, wife Tammy of Frisco, Texas and grandchildren Ashley Warmuth and Brittany Griffin. She also was the proud great grandmother to 10 great grandchildren.
Helen was the youngest of 7 children to Malcolm and Grace Young of Tatum, Texas and loved all the times she spent with her siblings.
Helen was a person who had a deep love for people and was always on the go meeting people and bringing joy to their lives. She is remembered today for the energetic and dedicated mother, grandmother and friend that God brought into our lives.
A Memorial Service will be held for Mrs. Griffin on Thursday, May 5th, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Tatum, Texas at 11:00am.
