Helen Nash Hensley was born March 5, 1926 in Tom Bean, Texas to Louis Rayfield Nash and Ina Keener Nash. She married Grady Hensley on March 31, 1949 in Sherman, Texas. She died peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her home in Tom Bean, Texas at the age of 91.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Tom Bean, Texas. She attended college and was a school teacher for a brief time. She worked for many years for IBM in Sherman, Boca Raton, Florida and Austin.
Helen loved to read, and excelled at cryptoquotes and had a strong Christian faith. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tom Bean.
Helen loved her family and was a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt. She lived to see five generations in her family. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by daughter, Janet Dickey of Tom Bean; granddaughter, Alexis Dickey of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandson, Adrian Dickey of Sherman; great-granddaughters, Harper Dickey and Maci Morriss; great-great-grandchildren, Adrian and Elena; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ina Nash; husband of 46 years, Grady Hensley; sister, Betty Nash LaRue; and brother, Charles Nash.
Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Whitemound Cemetery, Tom Bean, Texas. Officiating the service will be Brother Duane Peters.
Memorials may be made to the Tom Bean Public Library or to the ACLU, the American Civil Liberties Union.
