Helen Leola (Hall) Campbell

Helen Leola Hall Campbell of McKinney, Texas joined her heavenly family on April 18, 2013 at the age of 91.  She was born September 7, 1921 to Dudley William, Sr. and Rona Belle (Hanks) Hall in Anna, Texas.  Helen married Herman Glen “Jack” Campbell on June 10, 1943 in Freeport, Texas.  After her husband’s death in 1964, she began to work at “Kings Barbecue” in McKinney. Helen eventually became the restaurant manager and retired from there after many years of service.  “Granny’s” passions were her farm, cows, gardening, and preserving the fruits of her labor.  Helen was one of the millions of “Rosie the Riveters” during World War ll working on aircraft in Grand Prairie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Melissa, an active member of the TEL Sunday School Class and the Pioneer Club.  Helen was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be missed by all who knew her.   Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest loves.  

She is survived by her daughters, Marie C. McDonald and husband Larry of McKinney, Texas, Nancy C. Badger of Houston, Texas and Doris C. Littrell and husband Allan of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Bryan McDonald of Anna, Texas, Scott McDonald and wife Gloria of Hudson, Texas, Randy Littrell and wife Lisa of Weston, Texas, Kristy L. Duty and husband Chuck of Van Alstyne, Texas, Misty L. Long and husband Chad of Whitewright, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Dudley W. Hall, Jr. and wife Peggy Ann of Anna, Texas; sisters-in-law, Peggy Pearl Hall of Caddo, Oklahoma, Norman Jean Hall of Westminster, and Faye Pingleton of McKinney and loving nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Dudley and Rona Hall; husband, H.G. “Jack” Campbell; brothers, Harold Hall, Craig Hall, Billy Jim Hall and sister, Meda Von Hall Gray.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Provident Living Center and Hospice Plus for the exceptional and loving care given to our mother.

Memorials may be made in honor of Helen Campbell, to the Alzheimer Association, at www.alz.org.

 A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service.
