Heather Dawn-Simone Henry, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026. She was born on September 28, 1967, in Kingston, Jamaica to Athol and Joyce Henry.
Heather is survived by her two dearly loved children, Danielle Christina Waul, and Simon Elijah Brewington; her devoted father, Athol Colin-Silvera Henry; sister, Christine Nicole Henry; nephew, Christian Foster; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends. Heather was preceded in death by her daughter, Laurel Elaine Brewington, and mother, Joyce Elaine Henry.
Heather was educated at Vaz Preparatory, Queens School, Wolmers girls High School, and CAST – College of Arts, Science, and Technology. She was an outgoing, intelligent, and vibrant student—often the life of the party among friends.
Heather migrated to Bronx, New York in 1993, her move to the United States marked the beginning of a life defined by hard-work, and her determination to succeed.
A devoted and hard-working single mother, Heather dedicated her life to bestowing utmost love on her family and cherishing her children. She began her professional career in Rockford, Illinois, as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens, subsequently moving on to Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she developed a distinguished career and formed long-lasting relationships with colleagues who admired her strength, compassion, and integrity.
Her family was the heart of Heather’s world. She was deeply shaped by the love and values instilled by her parents, carrying forward the strength, resilience, and compassion she was raised with into every part of her life and motherhood. Heather made a personal and faith-filled decision to accept Christ and was baptized on Sunday, August 31, 2025; this reflected her spiritual growth and creating for her the essence of peace and hope.
Heather was a woman of profound love and generosity—helping, encouraging, and uplifting others. She will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, her fierce devotion to family, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on through her children, her family, and all who were blessed to know her.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2026, at One Community Church, 2400 State Hwy 121, Plano, Texas 75025. Following the funeral, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
