Hazel Tseng Hsieh

Mrs. Hazel Tseng Hsieh, age 70 of McKinney, TX, passed away August 20, 2005 in Dallas. She was born on November 4, 1934 in Peking, China to Hung-tu and Man Lon (Hwang) Tseng. Mrs. Hsieh married Hsueh Ying Hsieh on July 1, 1961 in New York City, NY. She was a past Chapter President of The Pi Lambda Theta Honor Society. She was a NASA Challenger 7 Fellow. Mrs. Hsieh taught school for 29 years at the Yorktown Central School District in Yorktown Heights, NY. She was also a writer for Voices of Collin County for the Dallas Morning News. She was a member of the Stonebridge United Methodist Church in McKinney. Survivors include her husband, H. Y. Hsieh of McKinney; sons, Durwynne Hsieh of Antioch, CA and Timothy Hsieh and wife Inga of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Tristan and Kieran Hsieh of Plano; sisters, Joyce Tseng of San Jose, CA, Anna Lum of St. Louis, MO, and Cecilia Tseng of Norwich, VT; and brother, Franklin Tseng of South Yarmouth, MA. Her parents preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 25, 2005, at Stonebridge United Methodist Church, 1800 S. Stonebridge Drive in McKinney. Funeral arrangements are being conducted by Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anne’s Belfield School, www.stab.org or Scleroderma Research Foundation, www.srfcure.org.
