Harold Joe Baver passed away on April 4, 2023 at the age of 90 in Paris, Texas. He was born on November 11, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Harold Joseph Baver, Sr. and Ethel Fisher. Harold married Hazel Petty Baver on February 8, 1972 in Wylie, Texas.
He grew up in Philadelphia and graduated high school from there. Soon after graduation, Harold joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Texas with the Air Force and stayed in Texas after being honorably discharged. After his service, Harold was an airline mechanic for Branff airways.
Harold met his wife Hazel while he was bowling and she worked at the café. In 1972, Harold and Hazel combined their families and spent the next 50 plus years together. Harold was a good father and husband to his family, always providing to their wants and needs. While working as a mechanic, Harold opened his own Insurance Company, which he operated. He and family loved traveling to Hawaii and the Caribbean as well as taking road trips in the RV they owned. Harold loved cheering on the cowboys and always provided words of wisdom as the played.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Baver of Lucas, Texas; daughter, Joann Barraza and husband, Freddy of El Paso, Texas; daughter, Terri Wilson and husband, Matt of Arthur City, Texas; son, Harold Baver III of Kaufman, Texas; daughter, Karen Wilson and husband, Bobby of Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren, George, Sherry, Jimmy, Misty Ann, Chris, Melinda, Whitney, Brandon, and Krystal; great grandchildren, Emma, James, Brayden, Bella, Addalyn, Easton, Venus, Angel, Cisco, and Zaylee; great grandchild, Hazel.
Harold was preceded in death by his, son, Robert Baver; parents, Harold Joseph Baver, Sr. and Ethel Fisher; brother, Robert Baver and sister, Barbara Ann Ehasc.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be held at DFW National Cemetery following the service.
