Gwendolyn Jane (Blomquist) Neumann of Plano, Texas passed away on December 15, 2017 at the age of 82. She was born on January 28, 1935 to Elmer W. & Addie (Tanksley) Blomquist in Karnes City, Texas. Gwen grew up in Austin, Texas where she graduated from high school in 1953. Gwen continued her education at the University of Texas and graduated with a degree in teaching. She worked at the University of Texas Library before becoming a homemaker. Gwen was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the McKinney Historical Society. She was a published genealogist and enjoyed reading and history.
Gwen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Bill Neumann of Plano; children, Melanie Jane Wall and husband, Chris of Prosper, Robin Hamilton of McKinney and Brett Neumann and wife, Sherri of Allen; grandchildren, Jeremiah Wall and wife, Valerie, Alicia Wall, Christina Hawkes and husband, Brandon, Ashley Hamilton, Chelsey Brown and husband, Jason, Ayron Neumann, Jazelyn Lindley and husband, Adam, Alexia Hall and husband, Matt, Kassandra Dabney and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Aiden Wall, Kennedy Wall, Harrison Wall, Tommy Lindley, Nevaeh Lindley, Cash Hall, Colt Hall, Kaylee Dabney, Jayla Dabney, C.J. Dabney and Lyric Dabney; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Addie Blomquist.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
