Gregory Leroy Reinhart of Lewisville, Texas passed away on December 24, 2019 at the age of 64. He was born on September 27, 1955 to Leroy and Marie (Lamecker) Reinhart in Buffalo, Minnesota. Greg grew up in Mankato, Minnesota where he graduated from Loyola High School in Mankato, Minnesota. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathmetics from Minnesota State University and later went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Operations Research from The Air Force Institute of Technology. He married Kathleen Ann Hyde on September 23, 1978 in Mankato, Minnesota. Greg enlisted in the United States Air Force on September 21, 1982. During his service, he earned the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Training ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Pistol/Rifle Ribbon, Combat Readiness Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two oak leaf clusters, and the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster. On April 30, 1995, Greg was honorably discharged from the Air Force as a captain. Following retirement from the Air Force, Greg worked for several years for Sabre Technologies as an operations research analyst. Greg enjoyed billiards, playing poker, and watching movies.
He is survived by his sons, Justin Reinhart and wife, Katelyn of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Adam Reinhart and wife, Anna of Austin, Texas, and Jason Reinhart of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Katherine Reinhart; sisters, Rachel Garding and husband, Ralph of Blaine, Minnesota, Connie Wendinger and husband, Ron of New Ulm, Minnesota, and Joyce Neyers and husband, Richard of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Reinhart; and parents, Leroy and Marie Reinhart.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A private inurnment will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
