IN LOVING MEMORY

Gregory Lynn Bailey

Nov 30 1952 - Dec 01 2022

Gregory Lynn Bailey of Trenton, Texas passed away peacefully on December 1st, 2022, surrounded by family. He was born November 30th, 1952 in Tonasket, Washington to parents Leonard and Betty Bailey and raised in Republic, Missouri. After finishing high school Greg went into the Navy in 1971. After his time in the Navy, Greg moved to Coppell, Texas in 1980 where he had four children, Dustin, Shanna, Tony and Chris. He married the love of his life, Kimberly Ann Horner in 1993.

Greg worked in construction since his teens and his passion for woodwork and carpentry eventually led to his own business, Bailey Interior Trim. Another passion of Greg’s was spending time outside, especially Sunday “pool days” with the family. Kim and Greg were also avid “cruisers”, going on a total of fourteen cruises, some as far as Alaska and Hawaii and others all over the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico.  He also loved Nascar and he and Kim went to many races at Texas Motor Speedway.

To know Greg was to love him and he never met a stranger. He made anyone he talked to feel comfortable and was the least judgmental person you ever met. He was the hardest worker in any room, stubborn, funny and sarcastic, “bossy in a silly way”, and the most loving Husband, Dad, Papaw and friend a person could ever have.

Greg is survived by his wife Kim Bailey of Trenton, Son Dustin Bailey and spouse Megan of Plano, Daughter Shanna Lynch and spouse Tim of Springfield, MO, Son Tony Bailey and spouse Candace of Oklahoma City, OK, Son Chris Hanes and spouse Mandy of Van Alstyne, Granddaughter Jessica Nidositko and spouse Nick of Denver, CO, Grandson Tyler Bailey and spouse Makenzie of McKinney, and Grandchildren Knox Anderson, Jaxon Bailey, Hanah Bailey, Kenna Bailey, Bri Brown, Randi Brown, Madison Hanes, Colton Hanes, and Brantley Lynch, Sister Beverley Buckmiller and spouse Dave of Oroville, WA and Sister Lee Etta Kaiser of Oroville, WA, and Uncle Larry Kensinger of Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Betty Bailey.

Greg was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. We think if he could give us any advice in this moment it would be: “Be kind, work hard, stay humble, smile often, keep honest, stay loyal, travel when possible, never stop learning, be thankful always, and love”.

“In all the world, you’ll never find, a love as true as mine.”

The family will host a Celebration of Life sometime in the future, date to be announced.
