Gracie Aline Ward, age, 90, of Princeton, Texas, passed away July 14, 2007, in Princeton. She was born July 29, 1916, in Cryor Creek, Texas, to Charlie Clay and Nobie (Wilson) Childress. On December 24, 1941, she married Rufus C. Ward in McKinney, Texas. She is survived by her children, Sondra Meier and her husband Roger T. of Wylie, Texas, Bobbie Haws and her husband Jim L. of McKinney, Texas, Cathey Davis of Houston, Texas, and Andrew Ward and his wife Sharon of Arlington; grandchildren, Martin Daniel Meier, Melissa Charles, Kevin Haws, Kris Davis, Kyle Ward and Thomas Ward; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene Collier of Corsicana, Texas, and a host of other loving family and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband, Rufus C. Ward; parents, Charlie Clay and Nobie Childress; grandson, Michael Clyde Meier; brothers, Bud Childress, J.B. Childress, Tommy Childress and Bill Childress. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1801 W. Plano Pkway, Plano, TX 75075, with Rev. Victor Kollman officiating.
