Grace Charlene Odom, age 86, of Princeton, Texas, passed away March 9, 2017 in Farmersville. Grace was born August 14, 1930, in Gatesville, Texas, to Walter Gordon and Stella Mae (Curry) Kelso. She graduated from Nursing School in 1952 and was employed at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas for thirty years. Grace was loved and respected by everyone she knew. As a devout Christian, she led by example and followed the teachings of Christ every day of her life.
She is survived by her son, Mark Odom and wife, Terri of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, Kathy Dixon and husband, Mickey of Princeton, Texas; grandchildren, John Dixon and wife, Hope and Jared Dixon and wife, Lindsey; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Alyssa, Jayce, Payton, and Jaycob.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sophie Jean Wilson.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, Texas.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Grace’s caregivers, Mary, Denise, Cindy, the staff of Lexington Medical Lodge and the Visiting Nurses Association Hospice and Home Health.
