Gordon Edward “Eddie” Coffelt Adams, age 60, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away March 20, 2008, in Carrollton. Edward was born September 16, 1947 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Gordon Pink and Meda Jeanette (Vestal) Coffelt. He grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and moved to Dallas in 1955, where he was raised by his parents Meda Jeanette and David Adams. He graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in 1965. Edward married Brenda White on June 4, 1966, in Dallas, Texas. He later graduated from Memphis State University, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration after going blind. Edward was the owner of FMSI Group, Inc. for the last twenty-five years. Edward attended Prestonwood Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Adams of Carrollton, Texas; daughter, Wendy Lawton and her husband, Jonathan of Plano, Texas; granddaughter, Madison Erwin, also of Plano; parents, Jeanette and David Adams, of Frisco, Texas; brothers, James D. Adams of Frisco, Texas and Wayne Coffelt and his wife, Ann of Carlisle, Arkansas; sisters, Beverly Stoltzfus and husband, Calvin of Elverson, Pennsylvania, Becky Jernigan and husband, Tom of Sachse, Texas, Wanda Coffelt Lawson and husband, Bobby of Stuttgart, Arkansas, and Tammy Coffelt Hale and her husband, Tommy of Whittier, California; four nephews; two nieces; and a large host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Gordon Coffelt and his grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 24, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Entombment will follow at Ridgeview Mausoleum in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening beginning at 6:00 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association or The American Kidney Foundation.
