Gordon "Bob" D. Boyer was born Feb 16, 1931 in Walcott, North Dakota to Andrew J. and Minnie (Northway) Boyer. He passed away in Dallas, Texas on April 10,2017. Bob was born on the Boyer family farm, and graduated from Walcott High in 1950. He then went into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. When he returned he attended Valley City State College and received a BS at NDSU in 1959. He also served in the Army National Guard. Bob married Louise Ulness in 1955 in Walcott, North Dakota. Louse died March 26, 2007 after nearly 52 years of marriage. Bob was a counselor in Mandan, North Dakota for 34 years, and supported many children, teens and their families during this time.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Roberta Boyer (John Wong),Woodland Hills, CA; Mary (Tony) Potenti, Dallas, TX and Bonnie Boyer, Hermosa Beach CA; plus beloved grandchildren Natalie and Cameron Wong, Matthew and Nora Potenti, and Eddie Phillips. He is also survived by his loving Boyer family, including sisters Clarice Skjonsby, Fargo ND, Geraldine (Rusty) Fiek, Rochester MN, and brothers Darrel (Odelia) Boyer, Fargo, ND, Delton (Ardella) Boyer, Fargo, ND and Harlan (Elaine) Boyer, Fargo ND, plus the numerous nieces and nephews whom Bob cared about dearly. .
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Minnie, his wife Louise and siblings; Helen Jorgenson, Dorothea Walberg, William "Bill" Boyer, Kenneth Boyer, Orlie Erickson, Marjorie Bolstad, Quentin Boyer, Eleanor Iverson, Delores Kummer and (infant) Margaret Boyer.
Memorial services are 10:30 am Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Bethany Chapel, Fargo ND.
