The world lost a beloved mother, grandmother, wife and sister, Gloria Chavira Gonzales, on March 13, 2021. Gloria fought a tough battle with lung cancer. Gloria died with her husband and son by her side and her close immediate family virtually by her side. Gloria was born in Torrington, Wyoming on January 18, 1964 and grew up in Morrill, Nebraska. She claims to have learned everything she knew from her own loving parents, Lucinda and Roberto Gonzales.
Soon after high school she made the move to Amarillo, Texas where she had two sons, Octavio and Eric Zubia, and eventually met her husband, Guadalupe Chavira. They later relocated to Princeton, Texas and went on to have two children of their own, Adan and Raul Chavira. Her boys were her life, and she was dedicated to raising them to be strong and capable young men. Her family meant the most to her and her boys are her greatest accomplishment, nothing made her prouder.
She will be greatly missed and is survived by her husband, Guadalupe Chavira; four sons, Octavio Zubia, Eric Zubia, Adan Chavira, and Raul Chavira; sister, Janie Gonzales; niece and nephew, April Joseph and Austin De Los Santos; as well as her grandchildren, Ariana, Roman, Thalia, Allison, Aliah, Isaac and Olivia.
May her soul forever rest in paradise.
