Gloria Tolulope Ukattah was born on December 15th, 2004, to Henry and Christiana Ukattah in Los Angeles, California. Raised in a Christian household, Gloria was a devout believer, beloved daughter, sister, and friend whose life touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will always be remembered for her warm smile, comforting hugs, love, and passion for anything related to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ through various creative avenues.
Gloria graduated from Rowlett High School with a 4.48 GPA, ranking in the top 1% of her graduating class. While still in high school, she earned an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences from Dallas College, graduating with Chancellor’s Honors. She continued her education at the University of North Texas, where she double-majored in Computer Science and Psychology as a member of the UNT Class of 2027. While on campus, she served as both the Programs and Academic Excellence Chair for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). She also served as a Bioinformatics Intern at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Beyond academics, Gloria was a gifted leader, writer, and member of many faith-based organizations. Gloria attended Riches of Christ International Church in Los Angeles. After moving to Garland, Texas with her family, she attended Winners Chapel International. She later became a member of The Gap Church and served as a leader in HAVEN Student Fellowship. Gloria was the founder of The Poets Cornerstone, a Psalm 23-inspired ministry centered on leading people to Jesus through poetry, song, and art.
Over 21 years, her life was marked by the hand of God, her pursuit of intimacy with the Father, and a passion for bringing people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through creativity and the arts. Gloria’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, classmates, mentors, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as a precious daughter, devoted sister, treasured friend, gifted scholar, creative soul, and, most importantly, a beloved child of God.
Gloria is survived by her parents, Henry and Christiana Ukattah of Garland, Texas; her sister, Julia Ukattah of Garland, Texas; and many loving family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
