Gloria June Sinclair, age 85, of McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026.
Gloria was born on July 4, 1940, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Sam and Martha (Clemons) Segelman. She graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, Missouri, as a member of the Class of 1958.
Following high school, Gloria attended the Kansas City Art Institute and began her professional career as an artist and illustrator with Hallmark Cards. There, she hand-drew artwork for a wide variety of greeting cards, ranging from everyday occasions to the popular humorous “studio cards” that were beloved during that era. Her creativity, artistic talent, and eye for design would remain hallmarks of her life.
On May 29, 1960, Gloria married Dr. Vaughn C. Sinclair in Kansas City, Missouri. Together they built a life centered on family and community. As the years progressed, Gloria expanded her artistic pursuits into interior design, applying her talents to residential projects for private clients and custom home builders in both Arizona and Texas.
Gloria also believed in serving her community. In 1979, she was elected to the Belton, Missouri, Board of Education, where she served for three years, contributing her time and leadership to support local students and families.
Gloria had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly cats. In her later years, she devoted countless hours to supporting cat rescue efforts, helping provide care, foster support, and advocacy for abandoned and homeless cats. Her compassion and dedication improved the lives of many animals and brought comfort to those who shared her love of animal welfare.
Gloria will be remembered for her artistic spirit, her warmth and kindness, her dedication to family, her compassion for animals, and her ability to bring beauty and creativity into the lives of those around her.
She is survived by her sons, David Sinclair of Louisville, Kentucky, and Bryan Sinclair and his wife, Rene, of League City, Texas; her grandchildren, Collin Sinclair, Christopher Sinclair, Brenden Sinclair, Trevor Sinclair, and Maria Oleynikova; her great-grandsons, Leon Sinclair and Owen Sinclair; and many cherished friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Vaughn C. Sinclair, and her parents, Sam and Martha Segelman.
At Gloria’s request, no funeral service is planned. A private graveside inurnment will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the beauty she created, and the love she shared.
