Gloria Avalos of Richardson, Texas passed away August 15, 2023 at the age of 77. She was born on February 18, 1946 to Manuel Garza and Sovieda (Corpus) Garza in Cuero, Texas. Gloria married the late Edmund Avalos on January 13, 1961 and they enjoyed 49 years of marriage before his passing in 2010. She was fond of sewing, knitting and crocheting. Gloria was of the Catholic faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Gloria will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Eric Avalos and wife, Gwen of Point Venture, Texas; son, Emmanuel Avalos of McKinney, Texas; granddaughters, Amber Escobedo and husband, Hector of Garland, Texas and Elizabeth Breeden and husband, Phillip of Anna, Texas; grandsons, Nicholas Avalos of Browning, Indiana, Quentin Avalos of McKinney and Ryan Hill of Frisco, Texas,; great-granddaughters, Lyla Deal, Aedyn Deal, Harleigh Deal, and Zara Breeden, all of Anna, Texas; great-grandsons, Alex Escobedo and A.J. Escobedo, both of Garland, Texas; sister, Lu Garza of Bullhead City, Arizona; brother, Wally Garza of Lamesa, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Avalos; son, David Avalos; daughter, Laine Smith; and parents, Manuel and Sovieda Garza.
Gloria will be laid to rest next to Edmund at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
