A visitation will be held at 9:00AM Friday, July 17, 2026 at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home in Leonard, Texas with a funeral service at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Leonard Cemetery.
Glenn passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026 following a lengthy illness. Glenn was born in Bonham, Texas on June 9, 1951 to parents Wayne Carnell and Lucy Ann (Gaulden) Griffitt.
He married Louise (Wilson) of Hooks, Texas on January 8, 1971. They are the parents of 2 sons, John Wilson Griffitt and Wesley Glenn Griffitt.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents “Griff” and Lucy Ann Griffitt, and grandparents John and Lavera Griffitt and Stella Gaulden.
Glenn lived in Leonard most of his life. He graduated from Leonard High School and East Texas A&M University (ETSU). Following graduation he followed in his dad’s footsteps becoming an Ag teacher. He soon left the profession and was a home builder and landscaper, eventually becoming owner of Griff’s Landscaping and Nursery. He worked at Choice Moore in Bonham and retired from L3, Greenville, TX. As a member of the church of Christ he served as a faithful member, song leader, deacon and elder. Glenn was involved in his community through the Leonard Volunteer Fire Department (retired), Boy Scouts, and Leonard Youth Sports.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, and sons John and Wesley and wife Tia. Grandchildren Micah Dennis and husband Ryan; Sloane Griffitt, Dallas and Austin Griffitt; great granddaughter, Ruth Dennis. Also surviving are sisters Bettye Barker and Sue McDonald and husband Gary; sisters-in-law Kathy Nichols and Georgie Alford, several nephews and one niece.
