IN LOVING MEMORY

Glenn LeRoy Harris, Jr.

Apr 16 1944 - Jul 03 2018

Glenn LeRoy Harris, Jr. of Plano, Texas passed away on July 3, 2018, at the age of 74.  He was born on April 16, 1944, to Glenn LeRoy Harris, Sr. and Christine Lucille (Clark) Harris in Marfa, Texas.  Glenn married Janice Lasyone on July 15, 1978, in Houston, Texas.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Glenn loved people and the chance to connect and spend time with friends. He loved Wednesday night group dinners with PISD friends and holidays and outings with the Wiseman family and countless outings and parties with friends from every aspect of his life. Glenn loved the outdoors and was at home and the happiest on the lake, in a boat. As a young guy he loved to water ski and more recently loved to fish and could sit for hours on the dock with a pole in his hand whether he caught anything or not. Glenn got his love for hunting from his dad and had the best memories of their hunting trips. He was an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church before he and Jan followed the family to The Heights where he loved worshiping, serving, and watching his granddaughters participate in many activities there over the years. Glenn loved a good road trip and loved reunions with Jan's family in Louisiana and North Carolina and any other excuse to hop in the car and explore. One thing he would not miss was a performance, basketball, soccer or volleyball game that involved Hannah, Alivia or Emma.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years as of July 15, Janice Lasyone Harris; daughter, Tracy Smith and husband, Michael; granddaughters, Hannah, Alivia and Emma Smith; sister, Cynthia Grissom and husband, Monte Grissom; nephews, Trent Grissom and wife, Brianna and children, Ashtyn and Daxton, Major Justin Grissom and wife, Lindsay and children, Alexis and Logan; sister-in law, Joyce Key and husband, Bob; nephew, Ricky Kilborn; and niece Jennifer Oxendine.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Christine Harris.
