Glenda Sue Winker passed away February 17, 2023 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 81. She was born to Charles and Sue (Rasor) Carter on June 5, 1941 in Dallas. Glenda graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas in 1960. She attended both Baylor University as well as SMU. She married M. Kent Winker on April 14, 1973 and they looked forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this April. Glenda enjoyed gardening, cooking, entertaining guests, and was an excellent bridge player. She loved to travel, and she and Kent traveled to Africa, England, Egypt, Israel and extensively throughout Europe. She enjoyed studying the Bible, a reflection of her strong Christian faith. She and Kent lived in Denver, Colorado for over 45 years. She taught bible study here and was an active member of the Junior League of Denver and its JLD Investment Club.
Glenda is survived by her husband, M. Kent Winker of Dallas, Texas; son, Carter Sullivan and wife, Laura of Plano, Texas; son, Jeff Winker and wife, Leigh of Dallas, Texas; son, Tim Winker and wife, Cheryl of Carrollton, Texas; son, John Winker and wife, Sylvia of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, Jordan, Ava, Paul, Kyle, Andrew, Alex and Ross; great granddaughter, Zuri; brother, Charles D. Carter and wife, Sharon of McKinney, Texas, and numerous other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. There will be a reception immediately following the service.
