Gladys Juanita Stark

Gladys Juanita (Hazlewood) Stark, age 94 of Celina, Texas passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009 in Celina. She was the second of four children born to J.P. and Linda Hazlewood on April 26, 1914 in Ellis County, Texas. Gladys was raised in Denton County and graduated as Valedictorian of her class at Little Elm High School. She was married to Cecil Clifton Stark for 61 years and lovingly raised five children. She was always a dedicated, active member of her Baptist faith as a teacher and leader in various churches in cities where she lived. She was a professional homemaker who never worked outside the home, and a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her love and faith were constant sources of assurance and inspiration for all family members and friends. She always put others first and constantly saw the best in everyone. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Clifton Stark, children, Dr. Gene Stark, Patsy Stark Smith; parents, her brother, Jack Hazlewood, two sisters, Mary Sue Hazlewood Grant and Ruth Hazlewood Phillips. She is survived by her son, Robert Marion Stark and wife, Janice of Frisco, Texas, John David Stark and wife, Barbara of Celina, Texas, and Gladys Jane Stark Bradley and husband, Matt of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Allaine Stark of Frisco, Texas; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Little Elm Cemetery with Dr. Raymond Horne officiating.
