Geraldine T. Haas-Cureton of Sun City Center, Florida passed away July 23, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born to Michael and Theresa (Durante) D’Alio on June 10, 1934 in the Bronx, New York.
Geraldine’s life was marked by a deep passion for community and a love for nature. She found joy in cooking, bird watching, and traveling. Her dedication to her interests and community was evident through her many roles. A devoted volunteer, Geraldine served with the Heard Natural Science Museum in McKinney, Texas, and actively contributed to the National Humane Society. Her commitment to education also shone through her time as a volunteer teacher at Allen High School.
Geraldine is survived by her husband, George Cureton; son, E. Peter Haas, III and wife, Lorie; daughter, Teresa Niell; son, Andrew Haas; grandchildren, Garrett Haas, Melinda Dock, Nicholas Niell, Emily Niell, A.J. Haas, and Jonathan Haas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Peter Haas; grandchildren, Michael Haas and Dustin Dock; sister, Mildred Edling; and daughter-in-law, Heather Haas.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests for a visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
