IN LOVING MEMORY

Geraldine Ray "Toppy" Bell

Oct 29 1932 - Mar 22 2019

Toppy Bell of Richardson, Texas passed away peacefully on March 22, 2019. She was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania on October 29, 1932 to Joseph and Ruth Gobrecht (nee Stoner).

After graduation from Eichelberger High School, Toppy met and married C. J. “Doc” Bell, and together they raised three sons. The family moved to Richardson in 1961 where she met many dear, lifelong friends when she became an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Their busy family joined Westshore Methodist Church where Toppy taught preschool to four-year children for fifteen years. In her last years, Arapaho United Methodist Church became her church home.   After “retiring” from teaching, she had a second career as a very successful real estate agent with Shirley Becker Realtors and Ebby Halliday Realtors, earning recognition as a Top Producer.

Toppy will be missed by her many friends and family. Her children are thankful for their loving mother and mother-in-law and her grandchildren continue to be blessed with wonderful memories of lively, sometimes boisterous, but always interesting and enjoyable time spent with her.

Toppy is survived by her sisters, Roberta Lighty and Virginia Heath (Skip); daughter-in-law, Tamara Bell; sons, Dr. Colin Bell (Susan) and Dr. Terry Bell (Dana); grandchildren, Vicki Netzelman (Paul), Melinda Bower (Gray), Adam Bell (Janette), Alex Bell (Kimberly), Emily Seidl (Jordon) , Kevin Bell (Sarah); great grandchildren, Megan Netzelman, Nicholas Netzelman, Sierra Bower, Willow Bower, Brenden Bell, Owen Bell, Laura Bell, Charlie Bell and Jeter Seidl.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, oldest son, Bruce Bell, and youngest son, Randy Bell.

Our family would like to express our grateful thanks and appreciation to the staff of Highland Springs Fountain View who provided Toppy with truly kind and loving care during her four plus years as a resident, and to the VNA Hospice team who offered compassion and experience to her and our family in her final days.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Entombment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.

Donations may be made to the Parkinson Voice Project, 646 N. Coit Rd. Suite 2250, Richardson, Texas 75080.
