IN LOVING MEMORY

Geraldine Louise Struble

Mar 31 1924 - Apr 04 2017

Geraldine Louise Struble, 93, most recently of McKinney, Texas, died peacefully Tuesday morning, April 4, 2017 in McKinney.

She was born March 31, 1924 to Robert and Florence Harpster on a busy farm in Gatesburg Pennsylvania. As the older sister to Russell, Ralph, Allen, Ernie and Dorothy, she learned the meaning of responsibility early, caring for her siblings, doing chores around the house and farm, and preparing meals for the family and farmhands.

She married her childhood sweetheart Ralph Struble in 1941. They enjoyed 74 years together until his passing in 2015. She provided a warm and loving home for her family while also holding down a variety of jobs over the years. She loved to cook and bake, filling the house with the delicious smell of homemade bread.

She lived her final three years at The Ivy, an assisted living facility in McKinney near her daughter and favorite son-in-law. She enjoyed sharing memories and jokes with the other residents and the staff who appreciated her smiles and easy-going personality. She was kind and loving to all and she received the same affection from them.

She spoke fondly and often of her home, family and friends in Pennsylvania and Florida. She always enjoyed seeing the many familiar faces that came to visit, and especially those of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren

She is survived by her daughter Janet Simonson, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives and friends.

No services are planned.
