Gerald Ray Davidson went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2022 in Denison, Texas. He was born July 28, 1946 to Willie Vernon Davidson and Beulah Loraine (Grissom) Davidson in Collin County, Texas. Gerald was born and raised in McKinney, Texas. Gerald was a hardworker his entire life. He had done many things through out his career from mechanicing, plumbing and maintenance work. He definitely had the hands of a hard working man. He had worked many years at the Garland, McKinney and Princeton ISD's. He had retired from Princeton ISD after many years of service, but retirement life was not meant for Gerald. Being active and working was a must have for him. Out of retirement he worked for the Howe ISD where he throughly enjoyed his work visiting with the staff and the children, this is what made his day to day life enjoyable for him.
As a young man he had a red '62 Chevy Impala. It was this car that helped him meet his wife of almost 50 years, Rogenia Latham. Gerald and Rogenia were married on July 8, 1972 in McKinney, Texas on his parents farm.
He was born with the gift of gab. It was this that made him loved by so many. No one was a stranger in his eyes. He was a friend to all. Whether you were working on cars or sharing a meal, one always had a good time with Gerald. If you knew Dad, you knew he loved food and working on his cars or helping others work on theirs. Gerald never found a project he turned away or couldn't fix. His four-wheel drive trucks were his latest projects. Driving on back country roads is where Gerald felt at peace, he couldn't be kept inside. A quiet afternoon was a perfect opportunity for "Let's go cisero". Not only would you find yourself talking about his love for cars and cruising down back roads, but you would also find yourself talking about his love for God. His life was an example of a Godly man. He took every opportunity to share the gospel with others. He was an active member of the Howe Church of Christ. Spending time with family and friends and his two dogs Dezi and Spike are what brought joy to his life. His contagious smile, storytelling and jokester personality will be forever missed. He was Papa to his grandkids and greats, Dad to his children, Sweetie to his Honey and best buddy to his friend Jesse.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Rogenia Davidson of Howe, Texas; daughter, Misty Moore and husband, Greg of Anna, Texas; grandchildren, Blaine Davis and wife, Courtney; Morgan Moore and fiancé, John; Courtney Foster and husband, Jordan; Miranda Moore and husband, Nathan; great-grandchildren, Bryson Moore, Emma Streeter and Riley Streeter, Remington Davis; brothers, Robert Davidson of McKinney, Texas and Billy Davidson and wife, Donna of Melissa, Texas; sisters, Gail Hughes and husband, Jim of Altoga, Texas and Martha Dunn of Princeton, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends.
