Gerald William Eminger

Gerald William Eminger, AKA “Jerry, Dad, Papa” Age 87, of The Colony, Texas, passed away January 6, 2021. He was born June 23, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to Ernest and Edna (Luttermoser) Eminger.

He grew up in Detroit with his older brothers, Gordon and Richard and his baby sister Nancy. He was a good boy and responsible young man who served our country in the Army during the Korean War. He married well and has three children, Kathy, Beth and Larry. He was also Papa for three decades to his wife’s family. Joann preceded him in death and now they are together again. Jerry lived a simple but full life. He was a successful traveling salesman most of his life which fit his personality perfectly. He had a gentleman’s firm handshake, a welcoming smile and some good stories to tell. He was also a proud owner of a donut shop back in the 70’s. After retirement he and Joann traveled many miles in a motorhome throughout our beautiful country. He loved to golf, fish and enjoy a good meal.

He lived long and strong and those around him loved him fiercely. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children, Katherine (Kathy) Keathley and husband, Jim of San Juan Capistrano, California,  Elizabeth(Beth) Gonzalez and husband, Rico of The Colony, Texas, and Lawrence (Larry) Eminger and wife, Milly of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Richard Eminger and wife, Charlotte; grandchildren, Casey, Megan, Michael, Renee, Rachel, Kirk, and Jenna; great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret Eminger; and Joanne Eminger’s family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Eminger, brothers, Gordan Eminger and Robert Eminger: and sister, Nancy Conley.

Gerald will be laid to rest with his parents and siblings at Oak View Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan.
