Gerald Ray Knox, 80, long-time resident of Farmersville, Texas, passed away July 16, 2017, at Texoma Medical Center (TMC) in Denison, TX. Gerald retired in 2015, after 30+ years from his home-based accounting & tax business. In his youth, Gerald was a member of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. One of his fondest memories was a trip from Farmersville, by train, to Valley Forge, PA to the 1950 BSA National Jamboree. President Harry S. Truman and General Dwight D. Eisenhower gave speeches to address the great scout celebration of over 47 thousand boys. In addition to his love for the great outdoors, was his love for cruise ship adventures.

Gerald is preceded in death by his father& mother, Leburn & Pearl Knox and his sister, Barbara Hughes.

Gerald is survived by his daughters Leslie Rich, Sherman, TX and Marsha Pennington, Baton Rouge, LA; in addition to grandchildren Leigh LoBello, Sean Conner, Kristi Cochran, Gary Paul Cochran, Chad Lee, Chris Rich, Hope Rich and Luke Rich along with eight great-grandchildren.

The family of Gerald Knox wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Pastor Chase Smith in Farmersville, for presiding over the graveside service.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday July 19, 2017 at the Nevada Cemetery with a visitation 1 hour prior at the Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville.
