Gerald Ray Cook was born January 24, 1933 and passed on August 22, 2017 at the age of 84.  Gerald was born to the parents of Sam and Edna Cook.  He married Georgia Mae Hass on December 22, 1951, until her passing in 1984.  He served in the U. S. Army and settled early in life in Hunt County, worked for the city of Greenville as a lineman, retiring from them after 25 years. 

Gerald is survived by; sons, Michael and Almina Cook, Thomas Lee and Candy Cook, grandchildren, Joe and Misty Cook, Lori and Danny Schwartz, Leesa and Nick Lane and Johnathan Cook, great-grandchildren are Kendall and Maci Cook, Joseph Cook, Jamie Welborn, Justin Wooten, Jessica Wooten, Lexi Livezey, Jayden Cook, Seth Schwartz, great-great grandchildren, Kinlee Cook and Ruger Cook, sister Ann and Jack Hicks and several nieces and nephews. Gerald married Maggie Spruill and was married to her until her passing and years later married Barbara Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by; his first wife and children’s mother, Georgia Mae Cook, both his parents, his second wife, Maggie Spruill and brother, Garvis Cook.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, Texas. 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Higher Trails Cowboy Church in Celeste, Texas.  Rev. Randy Bird will officiate.  Burial will follow in I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Farmersville, Texas
